How to plan your wedding Itinerary

In order to best capture your day, here are some things we'd suggest you keep in mind:

Getting Ready

  • The quality of getting ready photos is almost fully dependent on location. If the locations you’re considering do not have an abundance of light (floor to ceiling windows) and wide open spaces, it will have a significant impact on the final product. We recommend this is the one the spot to stretch your budget and rent a beautiful hotel suite or airbnb

  • Consider having the groom and bride get ready within 15 minutes of each other. Unless absolutely necessary we do not split our primary and secondary photographers

  • Please ensure that hair and makeup is finished before we arrive at the brides location

  • Nice looking drink glasses & bottles go a long way to help the look of the photos/videos

  • We love detail shots and to build them we need your help! In the bride’s getting ready please make sure there are floral arrangements, invites, rings and other jewelry available. We find it easiest if you organize them in a box for us prior to arrival

  • The more consistent the colour palette the better it will look. It really makes a difference in storytelling for the album/video

  •  Wooden/stylized hangers are much better than plastic for photo/video

First Look/Wedding Party/Couples Photos

  • If you decide to have a first look and have a large wedding party it can make for interesting captures if we incorporate them into the moment

  • Allow a minimum 2 hours for portraits of the wedding party + bride and groom

Ceremony

  • If you’re having an outdoor ceremony, consider the angle of light at that time of the day. If the direction of the sun is in front of you it’s not always a nice look. Side lighting or back lighting will create better light. Ideally try to find more of a shaded area if it's in the middle of the day.

  • Slow down on the aisle. Hammer this into your wedding party. The faster people walk down the aisle, the worse it looks in photos and videos

Family Photos

  • Budget 2-3 minutes per combination you wish to have. If you have 20 different combinations, then 40-60 minutes is needed

Reception

  • Allow the photo/video team to capture all venues ahead of time while they are still empty

  • Budget in 15 minutes of breathing room ahead of major events such as speeches, ceremonies and performances in order for the team to set up lighting/angles of coverage

  • Photo/Video team should be seated in the main room for the reception venue and fed at the same time as the head table. This allows us to make sure we're fed and ready to capture all events during/after dinner

  • Make sure the song for the first dance is a minimum 1 minute and 30 seconds to allow for a proper variety of shots and angles

  • If possible, we recommend keeping speeches confined to a podium or one specific spot on stage. When speakers are moving around it becomes hard to capture them from multiple angles

  • We require a heads up before speeches begin to ensure all audio and video capture devices are ready to record
